Subject Notes:  Fantasia is Disney's 3rd animated feature and premiered in theaters during November of 1940.  Narrated by Deems Taylor, the film includes eight sequences; Toccata And Fugue In D Minor, The Nutcracker Suite, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Rite Of Spring, The Pastoral Symphony, The Dance Of The Hours, Night On Bald Mountain and Ave Maria.

The film was presented in "FantaSound," an early stereo system devised by the Disney Studio.  A FantaSound logo was also used to promote the stereo issues of several Disney records, most commonly found on the Buena Vista inner sleeves.  The running time is approximately 125 minutes.

A sequel, Fantasia 2000 was released nearly 60 years later, making its general public debut in IMAX theaters on January 1, 2000. The film included the 1940's segment, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, along with eight new segments.  The running time is approximately 74 minutes.
