Comments:
This record
was issued exclusively through Radio Shack retail stores and
includes the Realistic catalog number 51-3004 on the front
cover. The back cover and record labels include the
Disneyland Records catalog number of 3825.
The record derives
from the 1975 record #3811 An
Adaptation Of Dickens' Christmas Carol. However, this issue is more closely aligned to the 1983 featurette that
includes the additional song by Irwin Kostal, Oh, What A
Merry Christmas Day. The program includes the characters
Scrooge McDuck, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Merlin, Daisy Duck,
Giant (from Mickey and the Beanstalk,) Minnie Mouse, Morty
(Mickey's nephew,) Ferdy (and others) and the Witch (from Snow
White.) All characters are portrayed by Alan Young,
Clarence Nash, Alan Dinehart, Walker Edmiston and Janet Waldo. There are no tracks on the
vinyl and both sides play all the way through without breaks.
A 12-page storybook with lyrics is included in the standard
record jacket. A picture disc version was also released on
#3109 and includes the same
audio contents.

Subject Notes:
Mickey's
Christmas Carol is an animated featurette that premiered in theaters
during December of 1983. It was nominated for an Academy Award for
Best Short Film and began an annual TV airing in 1984.
The
production is based
on the Charles Dickens' well-known Christmas story, retold with Uncle
Scrooge as Ebenezer Scrooge and a full cast of Disney characters from a
variety of pre-existing productions. The idea for the film was
inspired by the 1975 Disneyland Record #3811
An Adaptation Of Dickens' Christmas Carol.
