Subject Notes:  Mickey's Christmas Carol is an animated featurette that premiered in theaters during December of 1983.  It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Film and began an annual TV airing in 1984.

The production is based on the Charles Dickens' well-known Christmas story, retold with Uncle Scrooge as Ebenezer Scrooge and a full cast of Disney characters from a variety of pre-existing productions.  The idea for the film was inspired by the 1975 Disneyland Record #3811 An Adaptation Of Dickens' Christmas Carol.
