Stan Jones was born on June 5, 1914 in Douglas, Arizona. At the
young age of 49, he succumbed to Cancer in Los Angeles on
December 13, 1963. Working as park ranger in 1948 at the US National
Park in Death Valley, Jones got his Hollywood break after being
assigned as the liaison to director John Ford while Ford was shooting
"3 Godfathers." Jones
is best known for his 1949 hit Ghost Riders In The Sky.
In 1955, Jones began writing for Disney Studios and contributed to their
catalog with hits such as Wringle Wrangle from Western
Ho, The Wagons! and The Triple R Song from Spin
and Marty. He also appeared in
Disney productions such as The Great Locomotive Chase and Ten Who
Dared.
Elfego
Baca first aired on October 3, 1958 as live-action episodes of Walt Disney Presents (later known as
The Wonderful World
Of Disney.) A few music records were produced that
carried the title of the first episode The Nine Lives Of Elfego Baca. There were a total of ten episodes. All episodes
featured Robert Loggia in the starring role. The final episode
aired on March 20, 1960.
Texas
John Slaughter first aired on October 31, 1958 as live-action episodes of
Walt Disney Presents (later known as The Wonderful World
Of Disney.) There were a total of sixteen
episodes. All episodes featured Tom Tryon in the starring
role. The final episode aired on April 23, 1961.
