Record
Comments:
This record is the closest
that The Wellingtons came to having
their own album. They are featured on nine of the twelve tracks
with the others billed at "Guest Stars" Rex Allen,
Fess Park and Stan Jones, each contributing one track each. The
other records in The Wellingtons' discography mainly include
singles and single album tracks, with the exception of their contributions
to BV/STER-3320 Annette On Campus, where they are credited to
five of the twenty-four album tracks.

Subject
Notes: The
Wellingtons started out in 1962 under the name of The Lincolns, an American
pop folk group from Champaign, Illinois. They were discovered by veteran
Disney songwriter Terry Gilkyson, while they were all attending the same
fraternity. The quartet later changed their name to The Wellingtons for
the remainder of their musical career. The group includes
singer-instrumentalist George Patterson, Ed Wade,
Kirby Johnson and Rick Jarrard.
Although The
Wellingtons have an impressive catalog with the Disney Company, they are
best known for recording a non-Disney theme song for the first season of
Gilligan's Island.
For Disney, they can be heard in multi-part harmonies on classics theme
songs
from The Wonderful World of Color, Davy Crockett, Savage
Sam, Thomasina and others. They also covered Kirk
Douglas' memorable song, A Whale Of A Tale, from 20,000 Leagues Under The
Sea.
