Record
Comments: This
record is one of the four seasons records, with music by Camarata.
The tracks on this Winter record are all instrumental.
The
mono covers include a white border on three sides, while the
stereo covers come with or without a white border. In
2003, three of the eleven tracks (4, 5 and 7) were released on
the CD Soft And Sentimental by Camarata & His
Orchestra. Also on the CD are eight tracks from Spring and eight from
Summer.
All four records,
Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, were also released
in an unnumbered box set, Music Of The Seasons that
contains a montage of the cover artwork from each album.
All four records were issued in the WDL catalog series, in mono
recordings in 1958. In 1959, Spring and Winter were
released in stereo with the catalog prefix changed from WDL to
STER.
Some of the stereo versions include mono-cover
artwork with a Stereophonic sticker placed over the Disneyland
Records logo, while others have the Stereophonic artwork and
STER catalog number printed within the paper artwork. All
mono versions will be on purple Disneyland labels, while the
stereo versions will carry the stereo notation on a black
Disneyland label.
The
mono version of the Winter record cover is slightly different
than the stereo versions. It's brighter in color, shows more of the snowflake images at the
bottom edge and reveals the artist's signature, Art Riley, below the
name CAMARATA

Subject
Notes: Salvador "Tutti" Camarata is best
known for his work as a musical supervisor, arranger and conductor who
joined Disney in 1956 to help establish the Disneyland Records company. He was
born in New Jersey on May 11, 1913 and passed away in Burbank on April
13, 2005.
Of his many accomplishments and successes, a stand-out
credit of his includes creating the "echo" sound for recording
artists such at Annette Funicello and others. Often credited as
Camarata and known to many at just "Tutti," he was named a
Disney Legend in 2003.
