Record Comments: This 6 x 6
inch, thick cardboard greeting card includes a get well message that can
be read and listened to. In order to play the flexi-disc record that
is attached to the inside of the card, it requires that the center hole be
punched out and for the card to be separated on the perforated, folding
edge. The
card was produced by American Telecard, Inc. of Los Angeles,
California. The
record was made by Columbia Record Productions and includes a short
message with sound effects and dialog from Disney characters Doctor Ludwig Von
Drake and Goofy. The story on
this record starts with Goofy introducing Doctor Ludwig Von Drake who has
recently returned from a trip to Africa. The doctor gives a rather
long-winded speech about how animals are like people and people are like
animals. In his rhyme about lions, a pussycat shows up and frightens
the doctor. Goofy ends the message by wishing the recipient of the
card to get well fast.
Subject Notes:
Ludwig Von Drake is Donald Duck's eccentric
uncle who hosted several Disney television shows. His first
appearance was in the premiere episode of Walt Disney's Wonderful
World of Color in 1961 entitled An Adventure In Color.
The voice of Ludwig Von Drake was supplied by Paul Frees.
